Soph's Builder Tools

Files never leave your browser

Privacy

What object.sophey.vodka does with your data. Your files stay on your computer; the server keeps only what this page lists.

Who runs this site

Sophey runs Soph's Builder Tools. Questions about your data, or a request under the GDPR, go to legal@sophey.vodka. Sophey's other services are covered by the privacy policy on sophey.vodka.

Your files

The tools work in your browser, on your own computer. Your .world files, models and pictures are processed there and never uploaded; the server only delivers the pages. There are no accounts.

Kept in your browser

The World Editor keeps a few things in your own browser, so your work survives a reload. None of it is sent to the server or to anyone else.

Recovery copies
While a world has unsaved changes, a copy of it, in IndexedDB. Saving the world removes it; Forget recovery data in the editor removes all copies.
Files behind made parts
The pictures and models you use in the workshop, so a part can be edited later with its own file. In IndexedDB, up to 200 MB; the longest unused go first.
Small settings
The settings of parts you made, your group labels, camera bookmarks, and favourite and recent props, in localStorage.

Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes all of it.

Page visits

When you open a page, the server adds a small script to it. The script sends this site's name, the page's path (never the part after a ? or #) and the address of the page you came from, as your browser passes it on, to /api/track on this server, and sends them again when you move to another page here. The count stores the page, the page you came from, your browser type, the time and an anonymous visitor key, but not your IP address. The request that carries them still reaches the server log below, like every request. The script sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by email, or block /api/track in your browser.

Server log

Like most web servers, ours writes a line for every request: your IP address, the time, the address you asked for, the status and size of the answer, the page you came from and your browser type. The log keeps the server safe: automated attacks found in it, such as probing for hidden files, are blocked. It is rotated daily and deleted after 15 days at the latest. A request for one of the bait files that only attack tools ask for (such as /.env) is also written to a separate security log, with the time, your IP address and this site's name, and kept for 90 days, so that later use of the bait can be traced. An address that attacks the server can stay blocked for longer; the privacy policy on sophey.vodka explains how.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and other servers

This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other servers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data about you is kept, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its use, receive a copy of it and object to its processing. Write to legal@sophey.vodka. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
